The purpose of DIAHS is to advocate for and ultimately create affordable housing on the Discovery Islands for all. Key points of focus for DIAHS are:
- Create connections between vetted rental units and vetted tenants
- Assist renters with tenancy issues
- Advocated for designated numbers of affordable rental/ownership units in new developments
- Assist existing landowners in subdivision to allow for affordable housing units
- Maintain and collate data from housing needs surveys, ensuring information is available to all
